The Lighthouse

I saw two tortured tormented souls discarded upon a solemn island,
Their weary lungs heaving with cancerous tumours,
Seeping malevolent fibrous roots of death into their aching skulls,
Infecting their crazed unblinking eyes and yellow wine-stained teeth,
Their plastic veins oozing gasoline and gloopy tar,
Their rotting black tongues mired in ugly insanity,
Engulfed in surreal hallucinations of a flaming propane-drenched crucifix,
Cast out besides monstrous cleavers and rusty hatchets,
Serrated machetes and a pristinely polished guillotine,
And jagged slippery rocks as sharp as daggers,
Like an evil chasm of nightmares,
They lie sprawled upon the bleak rubble,
A cacophony of derelict grandfather clocks clanging dissonantly,
Suicide notes maniacally chiselled in the creaking wooden floorboards,
Tentacles of madness clutching desperately at their minds like a noose of lunacy,
Secret conspiracies and alien messages encoded in the vast intricate constellations of blackstars and lonesome moons,
Two mahogany coffins left side by side to rot in the crashing waves of time,
I saw tempestuously billowing plumes of toxic smoke,
Dystopian mushroom clouds of chemical warfare,
Gusting gales and spiralling hurricane towers,
A genetically deformed tortoise and snarling sickly squirrels,
Vicious venomous porcupines and severe squawking seagulls,
Looming titanic icebergs laden with skeletons of dead demonic pirates and savage vikings,
Bacteria-infested maggots gorging upon the fleshy carcass of a defiled unicorn,
And bizarre peacocks skewered by a flurry of sapphire tridents,
Their bloated corpses teeming with parasites,
Bombarded by a cataclysmic maelstrom of soaring concrete rubble and hurtling hail stones –
